Finding and developing talent
We all share a responsibility to recruit and develop our future leaders. We offer intensive training programs for the brightest, most driven university and MBA graduates. These competitive programs allow graduates to learn our business, gain important skills and help us identify and develop talented, agile, ambitious people, who are a cultural fit and help drive our business forward.
We offer two programs for university and MBA graduates. Our Global Management Trainee Program is a 10-month rotational training program designed to expose university graduates to different areas of our business and our top leaders.
Our Global MBA Program is a one-year, high-potential leadership program that hires MBAs into a specific business area with the long-term opportunity to move cross-functionally and geographically throughout their careers with us. Based on the significant opportunities, both programs grew substantially in 2016, to more than 200 graduates in our GMT program and 46 in the GMBA program.
A culture of learning
We believe that to grow, you must be open to new ideas and always be learning. Through AB InBev University, we have created training programs to develop our colleagues to meet today’s and tomorrow’s challenges.
In 2016, our global sales team and business heads met at MIT Sloan School of Management for a multi-day session that highlighted the growing importance and potential of data science for our industry. The program followed the theme of big data and analytics as enablers of growth and included strategy sharing and discussions with MIT faculty members and data scientists.
Our finance team completed programs through the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. And our solutions team participated in a tailor-made program about technology and advanced analytics trends through Singularity University and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Both AB InBev and SABMiller created programs dedicated to developing future brewmasters. The Global Brewmaster’s Academy, run out of St. Louis and Leuven, and the University of Nottingham’s MSc in Brewing Science are intensive, year-long programs focused on key areas of brewing: raw materials, brewhouse, fermentation, finishing and brewery management.
Agility is a hallmark of our culture. Through these programs, we not only educate our colleagues, we foster innovation and enable the rapid development of initiatives that can make a positive difference for us.
