Craft Beer as a Bridge Between Different Cultures
A PASSION FOR CRAFT BEER
Nolan joined AB InBev as a Global Management Trainee in 2017. But his passion for craft beer started back in college way before joining one of the largest breweries in the world.
Today, Nolan is the Director of Innovation at Brewers Collective, where he oversees all the Craft Business Unit's commercialization efforts for the US market.
PUTTING CRAFT BEER BUSINESS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Brewers Collective is an alliance of 13 craft breweries across the US dedicated to quality, innovation, and each brewer's heritage, culture, and communities.
For Nolan, working on this project meant being exposed to a variety of perspectives and cultures. The biggest challenge in working with all these local and national craft breweries was adapting to each of these partners way of working. Flexibility was critical to connect with people from different cultures to achieve common goals.
BUILDING CONNECTION AS A WAY TO OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
If he had to give one piece of advice to those looking to join the Global Management Trainee program, it would be to cultivate as many connections as possible, talking to people, sharing experiences, and collaborating leads to amazing opportunities and experiences, but more importantly, these connections are key when it comes to overcoming any challenges.
