AB InBev India answers call to help protect 1.5 million front-line workers

More than 1.5 million healthcare, law enforcement and government workers across India now have access to vital supplies to protect them while battling the pandemic, thanks to donations made by AB InBev.

As a long-time partner to our local communities, our teams answered the call for equipment to protect those serving on the front lines in the nation's most stressed districts. With guidance from state government agencies, we provided 40,000 liters of hand sanitizer and 25,000 protective masks that have been delivered to quarantine facilities, hospitals and public offices in Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, with more to come across other states in the country.

AB InBev's global brand, Budweiser also redirected previously planned sports and music sponsorship to further help at-risk workers. The brand developed a unique in-home experience called ‘BUDXHOME' to sustain the nightlife community severely affected by the crisis. In association with Indian HipHop star Divine and organizations like GiveIndia and PharmEasy, the brand paid an homage and raised funds to support the frontline workers through an initiative titled 'Project Salaam'.

Up next, AB InBev India will expand its efforts to support other initiatives aimed at keeping people safe and healthy in the fight against COVID-19.

These initiatives are just a few examples of what our colleagues and partners are doing around the world with ingenuity, agility and true sense of ownership. See more about AB InBev's response to the pandemic here.
