For more than 132 years, Cervecería Nacional has shown its commitment to the development and progress of Ecuador. Now faced with a health crisis brought on by COVID-19, our teams have come together once more for the good of the country.

Food and supplies for struggling families

To help stop the spread of the virus, Cervecería Nacional led the creation of Ecuador Sustainable Supply, a program that ensures food, beverages and essential products are procured, distributed and sold following strict health and safety guidelines. Developed in partnership with the national government, the program sustains small businesses while ensuring families have access to necessities without leaving their homes.

Complementing the program is Tienda Cerca, our free, online platform that allows people to order and receive home delivery of items from neighborhood stores. More than 70 thousand small businesses are currently registered in the increasingly popular platform which was recently praised by the President of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, in a national broadcast.

Helping front-line heroes

To promote hygiene, Cervecería Nacional produced anti-bacterial gel using alcohol extracted during the production of Pilsener Cero no-alcohol beer. Nearly 80,000 bottles of gel are being distributed to medical staff, security agents, food delivery personnel and people with special needs.

Non-profits, food banks and hospitals have also received donated products, including 307,000 bottles of Agua Manantial alkaline water and 265,000 bottles of Pony Malta nutritional supplement for the National Army, Armed Forces, Air Force and National Police fighting the pandemic on the front lines.

These initiatives are just a few examples of what our colleagues and partners are doing around the world with ingenuity, agility and true sense of ownership. See more about AB InBev’s response to the pandemic here
