Forging a Path at Ab Inbev
Caio is from a small city located in the countryside of Brazil. He graduated from International Relations and joined AB InBev in 2016 as part of our Global Management Trainee Program. Working at AB InBev has opened Caio's mind. Not only he got to know all the different business areas but was exposed to the most senior leaders of the company along the way. All this knowledge is what makes Caio responsible for the company’s commercial initiatives for the B2B marketplace in Brazil today.
Getting Businesses Online and Buzzing
Caio and his team faced a major issue for retailer owners in Brazil. These small businesses worked with many suppliers, which meant it was difficult for them to source all the products they needed at better prices, plus creating quotes and orders was complicated and time-consuming.
This issue led them to initiate a B2B marketplace initiative, expanding categories in the BEES PLATFORM. BEES is a B2B e-commerce platform that brings the power of digital to small and medium sized retailers helping to make our customers lives easier and their businesses more profitable.
With BEES our customers can browse products, place orders, earn rewards, arrange deliveries, manage invoices, and access business insights all in one mobile platform.

The biggest challenge Caio and his team faced on this project was helping retailers embrace the advantages of online B2B platforms, e-commerce, and digital solutions, while convincing them of the benefits of this transformation.
Today, BEES is one of the largest B2B e-commerce platforms in the world with 2 million monthly active users and has helped retailers overcome some of the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Caio's team has also grown. They started with a team of 2 and are now close to 90 people processing millions of orders every month in Brazil.
