Energy & Emissions
Our Goals
Improve average energy efficieny by 15% across our breweries globally verses 2025.
Reduce emissions across our value chain by more than 35% verses 2017.
Our Approach
Beer is made from a few simple ingredients—water, barley, hops, and other high-quality crops—which can be impacted by the effects of a changing climate. We aim to strengthen the resilience of our breweries and value chain, so that our business, communities, and ecosystems can thrive now and into the future.
We take a holistic approach to building resilience, pursuing disciplined energy management inside our breweries and working with others across our value chain. By managing energy efficiently and reducing emissions, we believe we can also strengthen cost competitiveness, reduce exposure to volatility, and build a better operating model.
ENERGY
EFFICIENCY
We focus on reducing energy in brewing through innovations and process optimization. We also strive to use renewable sources of heat, such as biogas or green hydrogen.
RENEWABLE
ENERGY
We work with governments and organizations to expand access to credible renewable electricity options, refining our approach for local realities and supporting capability-building in emerging markets.
SUPPLY CHAIN COLLABORATION
We engage suppliers globally to share best practices on joint emissions reduction, such as transportation and refrigeration. We also work closely with farmers to develop and scale low-impact agricultural practices.
