Fifth Generation Brewmaster Transitioning to Advisory Role after Illustrious 34-year Career.
7 August 2023 – Anheuser-Busch InBev today announced a series of management changes to its senior leadership, effective January 2024.
After more than 34 years with AB InBev, Pete Kraemer, a fifth generation Brewmaster and ABI’s Chief Supply Chain Officer, will be transitioning to become a brewing and beer quality advisor to Chief Executive Michel Doukeris. He will be succeeded as Chief Supply Chain Officer by Ricardo Moreira, currently CEO of AB InBev’s Africa Zone.
Pete has had a series of various brewing and supply chain positions over the years, including Group Director of Brewing and Resident Brewmaster in St. Louis, and Vice President, Supply for the North America Zone, leading all brewery operations, quality assurance, raw materials and product innovation responsibilities. He was appointed Chief Supply Officer of AB InBev in 2016 and then Chief Supply Chain Officer with the Procurement function integration as of 2021.
“Pete has ABI in his blood, and I would like to thank him for all of his contributions, leading by example with his passion for beer all of these years,” said Doukeris. “Pete will continue to serve as an advisor to me in this new chapter and I look forward to continue working with him in this capacity.”
“It’s been an honor and privilege to work for such a great company and so many talented individuals for my whole working life, and I can tell you I have never been more excited about the company’s position and prospects,” said Kraemer.
Moreira, who has served as CEO of AB InBev’s Africa Zone since 2019, brings a wealth of experience in finance, logistics, procurement, sales and marketing. An almost 28-year veteran of the company, Moreira became AmBev’s Regional Sales Director in 2001. He subsequently held positions as Vice President Logistics & Procurement for Latin America North, Business Unit President for Hispanic Latin America, and Vice President Soft Drinks Latin America North. In 2013, Moreira moved to Mexico to head AB InBev's Sales, Marketing and Distribution organizations and lead the commercial integration of Grupo Modelo. He held the role of Zone President Latin America COPEC until end of 2018.
“I’m confident Ricardo is a great leader for this key role of Chief Supply Chain Officer given his experience and expertise leading different functions, Business Units and Zones, as well as his deep knowledge of key operations including Latin America and Africa,” said Mr. Doukeris.
“I am enthusiastic about the opportunities our company has and excited to collaborate with our colleagues and partners from around the world to continue delivering high-quality, great-tasting beers to our customers and consumers,” said Moreira.
Replacing Moreira as the new CEO of Africa Zone will be Cassiano De Stefano. Cassiano joined ABI in 2000, as a Global Management Trainee in Brazil, and held several field and corporate sales positions until 2010, when he became a Regional Sales Director in Russia. After that, he became Logistics and then sales director at AmBev, prior to his appointment as Vice President Logistics for Latin America North. He was also the responsible for the creation and implementation of the High-End Company in Brazil, in 2017. Since 2018, he has been the Business Unit President for Grupo Modelo in México, part of our Middle America Zone.
“Thanks again to Pete and best wishes for this new chapter, and please join me in congratulating Ricardo and Cassiano for their new roles. And together I’m confident that we will create a future with more cheers,” said Doukeris.
